Space has always been a subject to be explored and learn new things and facts. Many data shows that all the scientific efforts made to surf space have gathered a lot of information for humans about the space but the area that we have explored is not even 1% of the total universe which means that there is a lot to explore yet for humans. 1) ‘Mangalyaan’ is the name of a space probe by India orbiting the planet Mars in our Solar System.
2) ‘Mangalyaan’ was launched by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) on 5th November 2013.
3) Mangalyaan was launched to explore the surface, atmosphere, mineralogy, and morphology of Mars.
4) Mylswamy Annadurai was the program director of Mangalyaan and also the project director of Chandrayaan 1 and 2.
5) It was launched through rocket ‘PSLV-XL C25 from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota.
6) The take-off mass of Mangalyaan was 1337.2 kg including fuel of the mass 852 kg.
7) The Mangalyaan with 15 kg. Payloads consists of Lyman-Alpha Photometer, Methane Sensor, Mars Exospheric Neutral Composition Analyser, Thermal Infrared Imaging Spectrometer, and Mars Colour Camera.
8) The mission was conducted in 7 perigee burns of which 7th on 30th November 2013.
9) On 30th November 2013, the satellite entered the Mars orbit covering the distance of 78 crore km.
10) Mangalyaan was projected for 6 months only but is still on the mission.

Mangalyaan was the first Mars mission of India with a hope to explore the moon for the existence of life. Its success cleared that India is behind the developed countries in the field of science and technology. India was acclaimed globally for such a cheap and well strategic mission. Even the Indian RBI (Reserve Bank of India) also celebrated the anniversary of the event by issuing ₹2000 on 8th November 2016 which has an image of Mangalyaan.
