Generally, the state of being free from germs and dirt is termed Cleanliness. In other words, keeping our surroundings and ourselves clean is called Cleanliness. The tendency of Cleanliness is treated as a habit and manner both. Cleanliness acts as a pillar for physical, mental, and social well-being.

Short and Long Paragraphs on Cleanliness

Paragraph 1 – 100 words

Cleanliness refers to neat and clean surroundings. A surrounding that is free from waste, trash, pollutants, and other filthy elements. These filthy elements include rotten food items, industrial waste, domestic waste, etc. Cleanliness is directly related to our health. Thus, not only our surroundings should be clean but being clean as an individual is also counted as a state of cleanliness.

Individual Cleanliness is referred to as personal hygiene. Maintaining personal hygiene is necessary. It is the main reason why we heard that, keep yourself clean as well as your surroundings. Cleanliness is also related to our mental health. In research, it is found that a clean environment, sometimes gives a person mental peace and calm.

There is a traditional saying “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. It tells us the importance of cleanliness as a divine practice. Cleanliness is necessary for a healthy well being. Some routine habits like taking a shower on a regular basis, cleaning hands before meals, etc. are necessary for personal hygiene.

From home to school we are being encouraged for taking bathe regularly and washing hands before meals. Cleanliness also includes proper dumping of waste. To keep our surroundings clean we must make others aware.

There is a famous saying by Gandhi Ji “Be Your Own Scavenger”. It means that you make a habit of keeping yourself clean as well as your surroundings clean. It is our moral duty to maintain our surroundings clean.

Charity begins at home if we take this statement in terms of maintaining cleanliness. It states that keep your home clean first. Apart from regular sweeping and dusting. Make a habit of deworming the home on a weekly basis. In Hindu mythology Festival of Lights (Diwali) is considered as the time to clean home on a yearly basis.

Cleanliness provides us three-dimensional benefits. These dimensions include physical, mental and environmental benefits. It acts as a shield for keeping us protected from the various infectious elements exposed by dirt, dust, trash, etc. Cleanliness provides us a mental calm too. It is said in human psychology that cleanliness is actual happiness.

There is one of the most important things related to cleanliness i.e. Sanitation. It also falls in a clean environment. It is very important to have a proper sanitation facility. There are many diseases caused by improper sanitation services. So, individually everybody should be aware of the fact that why it is important to clean your hands after using Toilets.

Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, the Government constructed individual washrooms in rural and urban areas both. The basic agenda is to make people aware of the problems caused due to defecation in open. This campaign also worked on problems caused by contaminated water in rural and urban areas both.

Cleanliness includes water, air purity. Purity can only be gained by waste management. Cleanliness is also important for our personal grooming. Personal grooming includes wearing clean clothes, free from bad breath. That is why everyone is advised to carry personal sanitizer. Cleanliness can be used as an impressive phenomenon for others.

Cleanliness is necessary for all public places and living in a clean environment is important for our health. Even our government is working on the agenda of cleaning our nation. There are many NGOs are working over the mission for keeping our environment clean.

Our environment comprises Flora and Fauna and it is a moral duty to keep it neat and clean. Mother earth feeds all species. As a human everybody should contribute to keeping it neat and clean.

Every Year in a huge number of cleaning inspectors and sanitary inspectors are hired in both public and private sectors. For maintaining cleanliness in offices, public places like schools, colleges, etc. they hire special staff for this. Being clean is an attribute of humans. Dirt and trash can degrade our environment. It can give serious health issues. Various epidemics and bacteria, fungi related health issues are caused by polluted surroundings.

Various small steps like throwing wrappers in the dustbin will contribute to maintaining a clean surroundings. Cleanliness is a habit and manner both. Why do our great legends always take cleanliness as a national agenda? It is because cleanliness leads to the development of the nation in terms of human resources and in terms of the nation as a whole.

There is a question. How come cleanliness related to our personality? The answer is simple, personal hygiene reflects personality. Maintaining cleanliness is also declared a worldwide topic. There are many organizations working on a safe and clean environment agenda. Some of the organizations are working for the ocean’s cleanliness.
