Sikkim is one of the 29 states in India in North West direction touched by the Border of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet and Indian state of West Bengal. Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim. Official languages of the state are English, Sikkimese and Lepcha. The world’s third highest peak Kanchenjunga is situated at Sikkim border touched with Nepal.
Sikkim is the least populated state in country with around 6 lakh population as per 2011 censes. Total literacy rate in Sikkim is about 82.2% in which male literacy is 87.29% and female is 76.43%. There are required numbers of schools available in state running by state government, central government and private too. Sikkim Manipal University is the first university in state established in 1955.
