Dadra and Nagar Haveli is one of the seven union territories in west coast of India. One part of the state is Dadra which is at the border of Gujarat and another part is Nagar Haveli touched by the Maharashtra border and both parts share the capital, Silvassa. According to 2011 censes, population of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is about 3.5 lakhs in which half of the people are tribal.

Literacy rate in Dadra and Nagar Haveli has shown a tremendous increment of around 77% in the past few years as per 2011 senses with men literacy rate of 86% and women of 57.63%. Government of the state has also provided required sources for educating women and children in order to make people of state aware about the education.
