West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is the educational authority of West Bengal. Established in 1951, the board aims at developing, regulating ad controlling secondary education in the state. It also helps in revising the syllabus, publishing of textbooks and conducting of examination for the secondary level.

The High School Examination (Secondary Examination) is conducted as the Madhyamik Pariksha in the month of February/March every year.

Usually in the months of June/July, WBBSE releases the date sheet of high school board examinations to be held in the month of February/March of the next year through the official website and local medium and so has happened this year too as the date sheet for the board examination 2020 of class 10th has been released on time.

The result for the same is declared in the month of June in the first or the second week. The results can be checked on the official result website at http://wbresults.nic.in.

The dates for the Madhyamik Pariksha or the Secondary Examination 2020 are as follows:

The dates for Physical Education & Social Service & Work Education are as under:

Physical Education and Social Service - 28th, 29th February, 2nd, 3rd and 4th March of 2020.

Work Education – 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th and 13th March of 2020.

Apart from the date sheet, the Board has also issued some notice for the students as follows;

1) Examination in shorthand & Typewriting will be held at Kolkata and Siliguri only. The venue and date will be announced later.

2) Examination in Sewing and Needle Work will be of four hours fifteen minutes duration.

3) Examination in Music Vocal & Music Instrumental will be of two hours fifteen minutes duration for theoretical Portion. The venue, date and hour of the Practical Examination in these subjects (which will be held at Kolkata, Burdwan & North Bengal Regions only) will be announced later.

4) Examination on Computer Application will be of two hours forty five minutes duration on theoretical examination. Practical Examination on this subject will be taken by individual schools.

5) Examination on Vocational Subjects (under NSQF Project) will be of one hour forty five minutes duration on theoretical Examination. Practical Examination on these subjects will be taken by the Sector Skill Council or individual schools.
