Darbhanga city is the 5th largest city of Bihar and hub for educational institutes. City is home to two universities namely Lalit Narayan Mithila University and other is Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University which are affiliating various institutes located here of different streams like engineering, medical, B.ed Programs, Polytechnic, Nursing, Industrial training program and dental colleges.
There are total about 14 colleges for B.ed course available in city which are all private colleges including one under department of L. N. Mithila University. Colleges in Darbhanga city are affiliated from different universities including Magadh University, L.N. Mithila University and one college is from Kameshwar Sanskrit Darbhanga Sanskrit University. To get admission in B.ed colleges, students are required to clear entrance test which is held every year in month of March or April, by concerned institute or universities conducted by NCTE (National Council of Teaching Education).
