Now a Days, the course of “Bachelor in Education” (famous as B.ed) has become the best option for those students who want to build their career in Teaching field. In India, it is now compulsory that teacher for secondary (9th, 10th) and higher secondary (11th, 12th) classes should be B.Ed. qualified. The best thing in this course of B.ed is that students can be of any stream during their graduation period like BA (Bachelor of Arts), B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) and B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce) but it is mandatory of having graduate degree before doing B.Ed. from any recognized institute and university.
Firstly students are required to clear entrance test conducted by the recognized universities in different states some are Delhi University, UP B.ed Entrance Exam, IGNOU, Guru Nanak Dev University and many more. All the activities regarding B.ed course such as its entrance examination, courses, education system, results, etc are performed under the observation of NCTE (National Council of Teacher Education). Students having art subject in graduation pursue their B.ed career in arts subjects (like Economics’, Physiology, History, Geography) and from science side, science subjects (like Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology). Duration of this teacher training course is generally of one or two years which includes two semesters for one year. Some certain conditions are specified for this course like students should complete their B.ed within three years from the date of admission also with 80% attendance.
